Picolit D.o.c.g. 2016 - La Roncaia

The Picolit DOCG Colli Orientali del Friuli comes from company vineyards located in the municipality of Attimis. The characteristic that distinguishes this vine is its aptitude for floral abortion which allows the mother vine to nourish only a few grapes in a sublime way.  The soil is of marly Eocene origin. The harvest takes place at the end of October but these few grapes become must only after a wise and careful sieving lasting approximately 6 weeks. The must is fermented partly in new Allier barriques and partly in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Subsequently, in late spring, the cuvèe is assembled and after a long maturation in barrique, the wine is bottled. Bottle refinement allows us to present a mature Picolit capable of arousing strong emotions. 

Sensory characteristics

Color: golden yellow. 

Perfume: evolved and very elegant, with notes of acacia honey and raisined fruit. 

Taste: delicate, full and appropriately sweet.  

Ideal serving temperature: 12-13˚C. 

Suitable for aging for 15/20 years

It is considered an authentic meditation wine. Also perfect to accompany dry biscuits
